Diploma in Building Design

AThe aim of this course is to produce working draughtsman / technicians to meet the demands of the building industry.

The main emphasis of this course is to develop the students' abilities to prepare a full set of working drawings for an Architect. In order to achieve this, students are taught the artistic, scientific and technological aspects of building through lectures, tutorials, seminars and site visits.

The second emphasis is on presentation skills, building and legal issues involving construction sites and the knowledge involved in the manufacturing of building materials. Verbal skill is needed for effective communication.

Students are exposed to industrial training with local architecture firms.



Course Outline

The second emphasis is on presentation skills, business and legal issues involving construction sites and the knowledge involved in the manufacturing of building materials. These skills include the preparation of the materials to be presented and the verbal skills necessary for effective communication. Students are exposed to industrial training with local architecture firms.
